We Are Going Places

Thanks to the efforts of many people through prayers, hands-on delivery and donations the OCF Bible Ministry is going places. God has really blessed this effort with the funds to make it happen, the feet to make it a success and with people praying to pave the way. Each week I hear from more and more new people who have received a Bible and want to help. Just last week a man sent an email that said he had received a Bible on a rig in New York but was now working in the Williston Basin. He asked for 100 Bibles to spread out on the rigs working in Williston Basin. He lives in Canada.

Another man emailed and said he had been given a case of Bibles by a man in Wyoming. He is a retired oilfield worker and now runs a prison ministry. He was going into the local county jail where he said many oilfield people would wind up from time to time. He gave his entire case out the first time he brought them into the jail to prisoners who wanted one. Since the men are only at the county lock-up for a short time he said that they are starting to show up at the local churches in the community.

What is more important is that lives are being changed. Men and women are being saved from an eternity in hell. This is all God. The Bible says in Isaiah 55:11-12:

11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
12 “For you shall go out with joy,
And be led out with peace;
The mountains and the hills
Shall break forth into singing before you,
And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

 

We are witnessing this very promise take place. Doesn’t it give you goose bumps to know that you have had a part in doing God’s will? We have delivered over 9000 Oil Patch Bibles in 2005 and nearly 2000 Bibles in various languages all over the world to people in the oilfield. Many lives have been changed and many have made decisions to accept Christ as their Savior.

In January or February 2006 we will have our Spanish edition out and ready for delivery. Get your orders in soon as we expect these to go flying out the door as well. We are also taking delivery on an additional 5000 English Oilpatch Bibles. Once both these orders are finished we will have distributed over 19,000 Oilpatch Bibles. Praise God and pass out the ammunition.

P.S. Please don’t forget about the Foreign Language Bibles that are available to anyone traveling overseas.

UPDATE ON BIBLE DISTRIBUTION TO DRILLING RIGS

Our long term goal is to have these Bibles translated into various languages to be sent around the world compliments of the Oilfield Christian Fellowship of Houston. We need your help to accomplish this. Give us a call or an email if you can help place these Bibles on drilling rigs around the world. We need volunteers to help us get these Bible into the right hands. If you want to sponsor some of the Bibles to offset the cost so that others can be printed this would be fine, but again our intent is to distribute them free to the rigs and other venues in the patch. The Oilfield Christian Fellowship to Take Delivery on another 4000 Custom Bibles

In less than three months nearly all of the first 5000 Oilfield Bibles have been distributed. Praise the Lord for His help! This Bible has been so popular and well received that the Oilfield Christian Fellowship ordered another 4000 Bibles to be printed. These should be here by the end of April and will be available at the Offshore Technical Conference Oilfield Christian Fellowship Prayer Breakfast to be held on May 3rd. (See other pages on this website for details on how to sign up for the Prayer Breakfast.)

We have been blessed with the resources to make this possible and through your help we will be able to continue to distribute these Bibles in the United States and around the world. We are beginning to work on an Oilfield Bible in Spanish.

The plan is to distribute the Bibles free to all the rigs on and offshore in the United States and also to rigs overseas being manned by Americans. If you want to help with distribution or make a contribution, please contact Mike Chaffin at the email address below.
